(A Sign of Frustration)

So I have for the past few months been struggling with a concept for which I have no medium: PROPAGANDA. I've been able to capture bits and pieces of it across various media, but lack a single medium across which I can convey it all properly. The academic paper demands too much formality, the vlog too much personality. At the suggestion of a friend I tried creating a tumblr, and while I can appreciate the system its just not for me. So, I've returned to the blog. I had a lot of luck in expressing my work documenting the Occupy movement with my blog VisibleDC.blogspot, and I think this might be just the thing.

With this blog I hope to explain what "propaganda" is from the perspective of living systems; things like what it has to do with the way your brain controls your body and how the the collision of propaganda with journalism affects the entropy of a social system. I will relate the social body to the body of flesh and bone through the photographic medium, explain how the Internet has facilitated broad access to both a means of information mass-production and a marketplace across which to sell those ideas. I hope that my investigations take me into the realm of linguistics, and that my work will eventually explain the chemistries of the social realm.

This blog is propaganda. It is my propaganda. By the end of it, I hope we will all agree.
